Gonorrhea, caused by the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae, is a common sexually transmitted disease. It is usually spread through vaginal, anal, or oral sex but can also be spread from mother to baby during a vaginal delivery. Symptoms of the infection may include burning sensations during urination, swollen testicles, and yellow or bloody vaginal discharge. Untreated gonorrhea infections could lead to pelvic inflammatory disease or epididymitis, conditions that can cause infertility.
