Gonorrhea is a bacterial infection that is spread through contact with the penis, vagina, anus, or mouth. The sexually transmitted disease can also be spread from mother to baby during a vaginal delivery and may cause symptoms such as burning sensations during urination and discharge (green or yellow pus from the penis and yellow or bloody vaginal discharge). If left untreated, the bacteria from gonorrhea infections can spread into the reproductive tract.
